The power of a faithful parent lies not in grand, dramatic gestures, but in the quiet, steady rhythm of daily devotion. For Michelle, that devotion began long before she ever held her son.

​For seven long years, Michelle waited. Through the silent seasons of waiting, she held fast to her faith, anchoring her heart to a promise: when God blessed her with children, she would raise them according to Deuteronomy 6—loving the Lord with all her heart and diligence, weaving His commands into the very fabric of daily life.

​When her son, Joshua, was finally born, the long-awaited promise was fulfilled. Michelle didn’t wait for him to reach school age to begin his spiritual journey. From his earliest days, she sang songs of praise over his cradle, filling his world with melody and worship. Even amidst the exhaustion of early motherhood, she guarded her own quiet time with Jesus, knowing she could only pour out to her son what was being poured into her own soul.

​By the time Joshua turned two and began to speak, his mother was already guiding his tongue toward truth. She taught him the foundation of all Scripture: Love God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Bedtime became a sanctuary of sacred storytelling as she brought the pages of the Bible to life, and step by step, she taught his little heart how to talk to God in prayer.

​A pivotal moment in Joshua’s spiritual growth came through a gift from Michelle’s friend, Malou, a missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Malou shared materials with Michelle, including a simple yet profound tool: The Wordless Book.

​With five distinct colors, Michelle unlocked the heart of the Gospel for her young son:

• ​Gold: Reminded him that God is holy, good, and created all things out of deep love.
• ​Black: Showed him how sin enters the heart and separates us from our holy Creator.
• ​Red: Revealed the breathtaking love of God—that He sent Jesus to die on the cross as the complete payment for our sin.
• ​White: Taught him that through Jesus, God washes us clean, wiping away our sin and granting us a fresh start.
• ​Green: Illustrated the new life we step into—a life where we continuously grow in the knowledge and love of God.

​The truth took deep root. By age three, Joshua had already hidden ten Bible verses in his heart, understanding not just the words, but the profound love behind them.

​Today, Joshua is thirteen years old. The tiny boy who once sat on his mother’s lap listening to Bible stories is now a teenager who chooses that path for himself. He opens the Scriptures on his own, talks to God in prayer, and walks in the truth that was faithfully planted in his heart from the day he was born. Michelle’s seven years of waiting yielded a lifetime of faith—a testament to what happens when a mother takes God at His Word.
